Very pleased about this arrest. Please can you keep us updated - i.e. if charges are made for one or more assault, or if the individual is released without charges. Was the arrest made by Lewisham police or Bromley police?
Thank goodness. I haven’t commented before as such but would like to add my thanks to you & your team for the fantastic job you do to help keep us all safe in our homes & on the streets .
I’m not sure I should love this topic (great community engagement) or loathe it (too many crime reports). But I’m sure it brings great comfort to many forum members.
One thought though as it marches past 80 responses. Would it be helpful to create a monthly or quarterly version? This topic was only started in December and already has a read time of 8 minutes. Noting a 2017 start date, and the long length might new visitors be less inclined to read through this one?
Of course such an idea would need @SgtBiddle’s support as it would be he who might have to respond to multiple topics. But as I noted. Just a thought.
Interesting. I’m happy to do what ever I can to use this to have conversations and update people.

Good idea, @Starman, and thanks @SgtBiddle for your flexibility and continued updates.
- I have renamed this topic to “Updates from your local Safer Neighbourhood Team - Winter 2018”
- On
March 20thMarch 1st I will create a new linked topic called “Updates from your local Safer Neighbourhood Team - Spring 2018” to continue the conversation. - When the new Spring 2018 topic has been created, I’ll close the Winter 2018 topic to replies (although members will still be able to reply by creating linked topics).
I’ll make it clear that side-conversations will occasionally be split off into their own topic so they can be fully explored without breaking the continuity of @SgtBiddle’s updates.
I’ve just authorised a charge for one of #PCRichards cases for breach of a community protection notice (CPN) for one of our local beggars.
A Postal Charge Requisition (PCR) will be issued this week & a court date is booked.

No burglaries or robberies reported last night on Forest Hill or Perry Vale wards.
Let’s keep it that way Se23!

We’ve had a few shed burglaries around Sunderland Road/Shipman Road in recent weeks… please check the security of your sheds/out houses this weekend…

I understand the logic of the majority of the tips against burglary. However, I’m not quite sure I’m interpreting the bins one.
In many parts of the borough, the only place to put bins is at the front of the house which presumably makes them accessible but is unavoidable.
Or is it simply not leaving them on the pavement after the round suggesting you’re away from home?
I always assumed it was because they can make a handy & portable platform for vaulting over high fences or rear garden gates - more of a concern for houses with a side return as it can grant easy access to a secluded area where a prospective burglar can take their time breaking in - a lesson I learnt to my detriment several years ago
Yes. It’s just advice.

A female has just been arrested in #ForestHill for begging and breach of her CPN.
She has been offered help and support from the team on a number of occasions.
However she continually breached her community protection notice (CPN).
As I’ve said before, this is not the biggest or most serious offence however there does come a time for enforcement if all else fails.
She will be charged and will be going to court on Monday morning.
Unfortunately it has had to come to this…
SgtBiddle
Thank you, you are quite right on this #SgtBiddle
Hopefully she will get the help for herself after this & more importantly accept it!
The team are out later… I’m off to court this afternoon with the beggar I arrested before Christmas.
He was charged again yesterday with begging & breach of his Community Protection Notice conditions again yesterday.
For the attention of those who post updates onto SE23.Com - I’m not on there - sorry!

Do u have any info on a mugging on Dartmouth Rd last night that I saw reported on a local Facebook group? Apparently five youths with faces covered, taking advantage of the quietness of closed D Rd attacked a man walking home.
We are aware of the offence…
If anyone has any information re this (occurred 13/02/18 @ 2330) please call 101.
Suspects described as 5 x Asian males a/ages 18.
There will be increased patrols by us and our response team colleagues.

I’ve been to court.
The beggar pleaded guilty & received a fine for his troubles.
On the bus lovely lady said that she recognised me from twitter etc! #Fame
Now back to find the team working hard compiling reports for various partners.

It’s was a busy day yesterday… It started with PC Kate and me having a chat about her 6 month probationary review - all good so far!
PC Richard and PC Gillian were in early to visit a victim of harassment in Perry Vale. They were able to take a statement and view footage. The suspect was issued with a First Instance Harassment Warning. They will be keeping an eye on this.
PCSO Andrea was out and about in Perry Vale too - visiting community groups etc. PC Richard has started the process of obtaining a Criminal Behaviour Order against one of our local people of concern.
PC Mick and PC Sam were on patrol in Forest Hill town centre. PC Mick had some good news. The beggar he arrested for breach of her Community Protection Notice last week pleaded guilty and received a £180 fine.
PCSO Amie was away Emergency Life Support training yesterday so was the only one not about.
PCs Kate and Rob were out and about in Crofton Park. PC Kate held a Contact Point meeting. PCSO Aaron joined her.
I assisted PC Gillian and PC Richard with an arrest enquiry. No luck this time… then we managed to sneak a quick coffee at the lovely Brown and Green cafe in Mayow Park where we kicked a few footballs about with the kids!
It’s all about the community!
After that I met up with PCSO Andrea in Perry Vale and we patrolled Dartmouth Road - popping into Sugar Mountain to chat with Pauline about the forthcoming Street event that we hope to support with horses and a crime prevention stall.
Then back through Perry Vale. Always great to get out on foot.
The day ended with PC Kate receiving a number of short notice and lengthy actions from the CPS for a harassment case she dealt with and which is going to court next week (!). All had to be completed ASAP so PC Sam and I stayed late with her to get them sorted. Why do memos always come on a Friday evening when you want to get away???
I even found time to pop into see JK Banquets about a parking issue…
A busy day!
Have a great weekend SE23.life!
