Railway closed this weekend (17th June)

No trains this weekend from Forest Hill station. Bus replacement service is running so expect long tailbacks on Dartmouth Road, Honor Oak Road, Honor Oak Park.

Probably best to go for a picnic in the park rather than trying to get in or out of Forest Hill this weekend.

Overground too?

Fortunately we live close to one of the best picnic spots in London:

Buy provisions Aga’s Little Deli, on Dartmouth Road in Forest Hill, sells great bread from Brick House, cheese, cured meats, cakes, drinks, olives and more, while the Saturday farmers market at the Horniman has a gourmet’s delight of food stands.

Other delicious picnic food is available at The Butchery, The Teapot, Il Mirto, etc

Poop… there goes our train option to get to Streatham Hill on Saturday evening. Taxi/Uber it is.

That also means the 176 which was recently cut to every 10 minutes and the 185 will be rammed this weekend.

As it’s due to be a scorcher this weekend a dip in FH pools could be a good idea before a picnic & of course pop into the library & borrow a book to read in the sunshine :sunglasses::sunglasses:

But don’t use a car, you probably won’t get anywhere and you won’t get to stop on Dartmouth Road for the purchasing of ice cream.

I’ve just had a delivery, phew! :rofl::rofl::rofl:

And definitely a nice stroll from the library & pools to the @HornimanMuseum picking up picnic goodies on the way & coffee, haderdashery, vintage home wares, cheese toastiies, and all sorts of other things too in FH :+1:

Bugger. I’m determined to support Borough Market for its first weekend of trading since the attack, so guess it’s a minicab.

176 to Waterloo and a stroll. I must admit, the bus will be hot hot hot!!!

Sweaty and me aren’t a good look, I’m afraid.

I hear you. I tend to look like Jabba The Hutt on a good day, add heat and it goes very wrong.

I believe trains will still run from catford bridge to london bridge, that’s the quickest way to get there on public transport.

Also but to Lewisham and Dlr to Bank then a short, but poignant, walk over London Bridge.

An alternative to the rail replacement bus to London Bridge which takes a long winded route is to get a bus to Dulwich Library, then get the 40 bus. This can work out quicker.

would be good to support D Rd traders during this time & we have loads that may be effected by D Rd improvements

Just saying :+1:

All have been a bit quiet this week and last…

Probably due to the noise!

Though I welcome my 7am alarm call each morning :+1:

Its a bummer for poor sods Like me who work on Oxford street and have to be in work by 10.45 on Sunday.
We don’t all get weekends off you know!

What’s a weekend off!?

Not had one in ages :rofl:

Anyway was great to see a few from here strolling up D Rd today to support the shops through the D Rd Improvements :+1::+1:

Hopefully have more tomorrow :+1:

This is happening so often that the should be 5 day travelcard.

Well D Rd was gridlocked today!

10 buses had no way of passing each other this afternoon!
