That’s terrible! It might be worth keeping an eye on Gumtree as there is section there for people selling pets.

Assuming the guy didn’t pay with cash or steal it, Sainsbury’s should have a transaction for the bottle of wine, which presumably the police could trace to a bank account or credit card with a billing address reasonably easily and possibly produce a lead?
