As the shop sign is replaced, we got a glimpse of the old sign behind:

I’m not sure what it is that makes it look as dated as it does, perhaps it’s the faded red, blockiness of the font or kitsch logo. Either way, I’m sure some will remember that old facade. Did anyone even buy their house there when moving to SE23 I wonder?

I bought my flat through Stanford’s in 1988 when they were called Robert Stanford but after 32 years I can’t remember if that was the signage at the time or not!

Before that it used to be the Post Office and Armstrong’s Solicitors was the Gas Showroom where I went with my Mum to pay the bill.
