Local tree surgeon

Any recommendation for local firm to remove trees?

We had Cameron from Amber Tree Care around and he seemed good (we’ve not actually used him yet but our intention is to do so)

Try Patrick Somerville on 07879 025401. He is a tree surgeon based in Honor Oak and has done a number of jobs for us. Very good.

@Cazimo If it was your tree, legally he has to give you the cuttings, while being allowed to cut anything overhanging other properties, as long as it doesn’t damage the tree.

Also true! Hang on to those trimmers as recompense.

+1 for Amber Tree Care

Reasonably priced, turned up on time & no mess left behind.

We used Hamish to remove 3 taller than our house trees, which were at the front of our house, in addition to removing some branches from another tree. He was great, really nice guy.

Just spoke to Campbell at Amber Tree Care, seems like a very nice guy and he is popping around on Saturday.

Thanks all for the suggestions. Will call each to get a quote and report back when the work is eventually done.

I haven’t used, but have met and heard good things about Hamish at this place (he gave me a load of wood when cutting down a neighbour’s tree).

We’ve used these guys a couple of times, based on a recommendation from a colleague: http://treesrus-treecare.co.uk/

Would definitely recommend - we got several quotes to get rid of some big pine trees in the back garden and theirs was the best one. Tidied up really well too - if it weren’t for the absent trees, we’d hardly have known they were there!

Just used Treesrus and George was great. Quick job, very friendly and cleared up nicely. All for a good price too.

Just wanted to add another recommendation for Trees R Us. George (and co) were great, and saved our giant fir tree as well as tidying up loads of other smaller trees and a hedge. All within one day and reasonable price for the expertise/hard work too.

I recommended another company further up, but they were booked up til May (really must stop recommending them!) so used another local company this week (Catford based) who were great. Very nice people and easy to deal with, turned up on time (well early) and did the job required.

They were recommended to us by some other locals we know and have a good local reputation as I understand it.

Just to add another recommendation.
Foxy tree services, based in Boveney Road. It’s a family run business. They came round to chop down a cherry prunus tree in our garden last Summer, as the routes were just taking over the garden heading towards the patio!
Very reasonably priced, knowledgeable & tidy.

I would like to recommend @twiggedit who we found from this forum. Amazingly helpful after we got totally left in the lurch by the first company who abandoned the project messing up our timelines. Brian and his team were efficient, friendly, tidy and i wouldn’t hesitate to use again or recommend

Here’s another - Darren and his colleague from Love Trees did a great job for us yesterday. Communication was excellent and the job was very thorough and neat. http://www.lovetrees.uk.com/

Another vote for Trees R Us - George was brilliant - really knowledgeable, thoughtful and clearly cares about his profession. Incredibly precise, neat and above all very reasonable. A lovely bloke, we look forward to using him again.

Reeves Arboricultural Services. Super professional and friendly and did all the council paperwork for me. Not cheap but good quality. Used then once for a crown reduction and once to take the same tree down when it became unsafe. They were great.

Ops should have replied to this thread. Also used Trees R Us who are really good. Plus Matthew. We had to use Trees R Us because Matthew was so busy. Would recommend both.
