From a popup on their website:
The Horniman Museum and Gardens will reopen from Thursday 3 December.
Our Gardens will remain open, including the Café and kiosks, toilets and Sunday market, but please continue to follow social distancing and the latest safety advice.
We are currently experiencing problems with our online ticketing system. We apologise for the inconvenience.
Though it looks like their website is yet to be fully updated with more details, the museum & butterfly house will require pre-booked tickets like before.
Tickets have been on sale since December 1st at https://www.horniman.ac.uk/plan-your-visit/ticket-information/ , though I guess they are still very popular given the problems they are reportedly experiencing with the online ticketing system.

Does anyone know if you can go to the shop without a ticket?
Hi @HannahM - the shop is open, but I’m told you need a ticket because it is inside the museum.

Thanks. Have booked a ticket and chucked them a tenner (a fraction of what I owe them for providing the Gardens - a saviour in lockdown).

Just a follow up to say that there is a notice on the Horniman website saying:
“The Butterfly House is currently closed due to the cold weather. Ticket holders will be refunded.”
