Hi there - We live on Ewelme Road and had a White van with Red and Yellow stripes on the back crash into our car while we were parked. See attached video.
Does anyone by any chance live on Ewelme or one of the side roads off it with a better security camera?
Really sorry to hear that. I live nearby but my camera hasn’t picked anything up of use, sorry.
That bend at the top of Ewelme Road is a nightmare at the moment! I got stuck trying to get up it the other day when 4 cars all bundled down it off of Honor Oak Road causing a bottleneck!
Very sorry to hear that! I had the same situation I went to the police station with the video. Gladly on the video was really clearly seen the registration number so it was really easy to find the runner
Have you knocked on some doors of houses that migth have CCTV / rigndoorbell type devices - thye might have something, but not sure how long this is held for?
This will be an insurance thing I guess, so you could say to him look, we both know you did it, we either exchange contact details now or you will go further and report to the police.
This is assuming it’s this person of course - no chance it could be someone form the same company in a different van? Any marks on his van, pain etc on it?
That’s extremely annoying.
My view is that you should report the incident to the police including any details of the van that you believe to be at fault. If they can prove they were not at the location at the time it took place then it will be clear that it is not this person. Alternatively, assuming they are working on a property nearby, perhaps somebody at that property can confirm that the van left at the time that matches the video.
If it was a van from the same company, the company is liable. (It is called vicarious liability, if you want to make them think you are an expert.) Contact them. You also need to report to the police that there was no exchange of details.
It’s 100% clear it’s him, he’s the guy driving the van, it doesn’t seem like a big company as there is also no signage on the van.
Just to give you an idea: same van, same street, same housnumber, and he was there the morning it happened… But just insists he didn’t hit the car.
Seems strange to be a wine delivery van going to the same place 2 days in a row, barring a wild 24 hour Ibiza style rave where I suspect wine might not be that poison of choice.
Perhaps a repurposed van with the old logo still on?
I’m confused (.com).
I thought the 1st post suggested that the low-top van caused the damage whilst reversing - but later posts have put it down to the high-top van that passed the other one after it had finished its manoeuvre.
