Enjoyed the Gin Club this evening. The gin selection was astonishing, the food delicious, and the format works well. Also, the Archie Parker is an ideal venue for this kind of evening.

Thanks @Simon, @Zoleipar, Charley, Toby and everyone that helped organise this evening. £15 was an absolute bargain and I will definitely return for the next one.

In fact, I wil return soon as, in my gin-induced haze, I left my bank card with you Don’t spend it all at once!

Thank you to everyone who came, I think it went pretty much to plan! Very grateful to everyone who lent a hand, helped publicise. Had to turn quite a few away in the final hours running up to it, so hopefully we’ll see anyone who missed out at the next event.

I will post more details in the next fortnight or so about exactly how Gin Club works, what plans we have and how all the money we take will be re-invested to bring bigger and better events to Forest Hill!

One of the fellow shop-keepers along Dartmouth Road in Forest Hill, @Pauline from @Sugar_Mountain, “popped in” claiming that she didn’t like gin. So perhaps my biggest triumph of the night was converting this ‘wine only’ girl into an avid gin-lover who is already badgering me to get on with putting together the next gin night.

How will this change in habit affect @Pauline’s late-night forum posts? That’s what I’m concerned about!

Since the event I have had over forty people sign up to the gin club news, and follower numbers almost doubled on Twitter. I’d better get planning the next night, but in the meantime, thanks to Charley, Toby, Zoe and Chase, all of whom helped me make the opening night such a hit, and to The Gin Box Shop, who were our main source of gin, so expertly advised and safely delivered a couple of days before the event.

Well done @Simon and co, that’s awesome!

Had a lovely night at @AllInnOne with the @FHGinClub last night. I had no idea what I was doing being a complete Gin novice but I learned something and still managed to get up for work!
