Resurfacing of Brockley Rise

There was a time when Lewisham had one of the worst reputations for failing to respond to FOI’a.

Not sure things have improved.

The usual offering of lack of resources and or funding to enable responses to be made is more typical than it should be.

the council highways team will have a clerk of works who will be going round all road works in Lewisham. There will also be Highways inspectors, who will inspect roads for defects, and there will be streetworks inspectors who will concentrate on works done by people other than the council (ie utilities) (or at least that’s how it works in Hackney).
Ideally they should check all works when finished but resources being what they are they might only check a random sample…? I know that we do core sampling of finished works to see what the repair is like underground (where it’s not visible what they actually did) - this can give an indication of the likelyhood of a repair sinking at some point in the future.
inadequate repairs by utilities can be fined by Council if too low standard.

Cheers for that Jon. Gives me an angle of attack when contacting Lewisham about it all. Haven’t been down there for a good few days now, but will take a trundle along there and see if it is all done. Then I can have a good old moan.
