Thanks!

Hi,

I would echo the recommendation of Gerry McCormick (07872 303925). I called him this morning and he has already been round, sourced components and completed multiple jobs for me. Very efficient, reasonably priced, and an extremely nice bloke too.

Oddly, we also called Gerry this morning. He was around within the hour, as promised, and fixed a lavatory cistern for us. Amazingly low price - he doesn’t charge a call out fee but estimates for each job when he arrives. In our case, he stuck to his original estimate even though the job turned out to be more complicated than he originally thought.

I would second Gerry mentioned above the two posts. He came round very quickly and went the extra mile to get our issue sorted, and was a great price. I would highly recommend him!

We also used Gerry for an emergency call out on a Sunday morning. Gerry responded very quickly to our call for help and was very quick and efficient in identifying the problem and fixing it. Was very competitively priced and would echo the recommendations above.

I too contacted Gerry McCormick. I had a broken tap on Tuesday morning, by Wednesday early afternoon it was replaced, he was quick, efficient and very reasonably priced.
I too would highly recommend him.

Another recommendation for Gerry McCormick, who came up with a nice little solution for the piping under our sink. He’s a good guy with no BS that is willing to take a little extra time to think about your issue. He’s also based in Forest Hill.

For dishwashers and appliances, I’d recommend the Spin Doctor. He knows all the standard makes and appliances inside out and he won’t come to do a job and take your money just to lengthen the life of an ageing machine.

All these first time posts in high praise of Gerry McCormick make me suspicious…

I might have become suspicious of plumbers myself after the last one we had, who charged us £80 call out to tell us he couldn’t unblock a drain because he didn’t have the equipment, then got his mate to come with the right tools and charge us the same again.

So for me it’s a minor miracle to find someone who isn’t either taking the piss or charging East Dulwich prices.

Of course, it might be that Gerry is putting something in the water that makes us all leave good feedback. That would be some clever plumbing shenanigans.

Thanks for that post foresthull. It’s Gerry here. I can only suggest that the next time you have a plumbing issue that you give me a call. After doing so, then feel free to also leave an honest recommendation. I’m quick, v. Reasonable who takes pride in both his work but also in not taking the piss when charging people. Feel free to call me and allow me to put your suspicions to rest. Thanks to all who have posted honest reviews on my behalf. Gerry :grinning::+1:

Sorry to be doubting, but good tradesmen are really hard to find! So I hope you are as good as the reviews - to date other recommendations I’ve picked up from here have been superb.

Your well within your rights to post whatever it is on your mind. I was not having a dog at you. I was only suggesting that when you do have a plumbing issue, please do call and allow me to prove that i am an honest and very competent tradesman. I’ve been doing this for 30yrs, so if I don’t know my stuff by now then something is not quite right!:+1:

No ‘dog’ taken

Hi - I would also like to recommend Gerry McCormick. We had an issue with a radiator not heating up and Gerry was able to come and look at this quickly and sorted this out for us with no fuss. I felt he is very trustworthy and won’t rip you off with the price. I would 100% use Gerry again.
PS I am one of those first time posters because I haven’t used the forum before but wanted to make a point of adding my praise for Gerry but can guarantee I am genuine :grinning:

Thanks - out of interest, how did he fix the non-heating radiator?

Hi - sorry I am not actually sure as I was not at home when Gerry came. I would definitely recommend getting in touch with Gerry though to sort it out if needs be.

@Longfield, @Dominic, @robin.orton, @one2tango, @Nomis46 , @JOT, @andrewofcleeve and @SarahO, does Gerry bring up this site and suggest a review? Does he go so far as to offer a discount?
