This is a prime example of how that “one ugly building” in the road that sticks out amongst the rest of the pretty period buildings gets approved. Ridiculous planning system!
With or without the top apartments set-back, this building is just another ugly tower added to a beautiful road in my opinion.
If you click in “related cases” on the planning application details, it takes you to a “property history” page, where you can see links to the other planning applications for the property. If there is a case officer’s report amongst the documents for the 2017 application, that should (in theory) give details on objections received at the time.
Hi @HillLife - I had been speaking to another forum member about this - could you send a quick follow up to email@foresthillsociety.com and it will come to me now. I’ll post an update here too as an FYI when we have one.
Sorry to bring this up again…I only just noticed last week that no notices were ever put up on the 4 lampposts directly outside the building. Is there some legalities around a notice having to be on display?
Am I paranoid or is there some “dodgy dealings” go on here with regards to this application. I’ve seen notices go up for lots of applications including throughout lockdown so this one just seems fishy…
In that case, you could email Georgia McBirney and copy in Planning, tell her no site notice has been displayed and ask her to do so and to extend the date for comments accordingly.
According to Lewisham’s website, the Statutory Expiry Date is Mon 7 Dec. That means that unless LBL has agreed a later date with the applicant, LBL must issue its decision by then or the applicant can Appeal on the grounds of non-determination.
Again according to the website, 7 people have sent comments so far, of which 6 were objections. That doesn’t mean that they were all valid grounds for objection eg some may have objected to loss of value of their home.
It’s also worth checking if objections were written before the uploading of the latest revisions of the applicant’s documents (14th Oct, as of this morning.) Because, unlike other boroughs, Lewisham won’t post comments online, they have promised to send redacted copies of all comments received to anyone who asks to see them.
