No I guess I don’t really know what type of flying beetle it is - flies like a stag beetle and sounds like one but looks different to ours. certainly a BFFB.

A quick google maybe a sawtoothed grain beetle…

longer search - body is about 2 inches long I think it is a longhorn beetle common name is the Tanner beetle. https://www.flickr.com/photos/63075200@N07/albums/72157634860842169/

Not quite se23 but went to Bell Green to practice taking photos of flying things, got to see the Peregrine I think (not 100%) - looked like it was being chased off.

Also saw some gulls fighting over food

Lots of pigeons, crows and starlings!

Also went over to Brookmill Park this morning where you always have a good chance to see Kingfishers - very lucky to see 2 together.

Thanks @MackemJo - that gull does look funny like that! Not a bad day seeing a Peregrine Falcon and some Kingfishers, all in Lewisham!

What a wonderful sight and excellent photo!

Great photo. I always look out for them but have yet to spot them

Thanks @margotwilson. @Itypes the last few days are the only time I have seen either, I have been quite a few times before and seen nothing, so there is definitely an element of luck.

What I will say is they are quite hard to see dependant on the angle and if they are moving or not, so do have a good walk around all sides and maybe take some binoculars if you can as they are quite high up!

Beautiful

Just outside SE23 on Sydenham / Bromley border at my allotment. I think it’s a Kestrel.
